Little Black, tries to keep up with a horse, only to find that he is too small, but he is still important and can do great things.

This is a cute book that is short and would be good for young children. The one that I read is very old, so I think if I took this to my classroom, I would need a different copy. It shows a boy caring for a horse, which could teach children to love animals and not hurt them.
