Loading... Back Home (1947)by Bill Mauldin
None. Interesting perspective from another generation on life's travails. ( )Bill Mauldin's successful follow-up to "Up Front', his wartime collection of cartoons and words about World War II. This is best read as a companion to Ernie Pyle's "Brave Men". It purports to be about the lives of the soldiers after their return home, but ranges far afield into several topics of general interest to the welfare of the veteran and the country. Mauldin's politics and commentary remind me very much of Herbert Block (Herblock). Hard to believe that he was in his early 20's at the time of this book. no reviews | add a review
