Summary: The family of a baby bunny all tries to guess what he will be when he grows up. They tell tales of him being a mail man, a farmer, a lifeguard and many more. Although his family had lots of great ideas of what he could be, he knows what he wants to be, a daddy bunny.
Personal reaction: It brings back memories of my childhood reading Richard Scarry books, it was like a trip back in time.
Classroom extension ideas: 1) The students could dress up as each other different professions, and act out those parts in the book. 2) It could teach children of the different career options they have as an adult. 3) It can be used to teach children they can be whatever their heart desires when they get older.
A daddy bunny plays with his baby bunny and says, “What will our baby be when he grows up?” Everyone, from the baby’s mother to big sister to Great Aunt Bunny, seems to know: a clown, a policeman, a candy store owner. But the baby only nibbles on his carrot and looks wise . . . for he knows he will grow up to be a nice daddy bunny!
