The chess book series that will be the definitive reference work to World Championshipions and Candidate cycles. The depth of analysis, the love of the game's ininfite surprises, the abundance of diagrams, and the massive use of computer and human help in analyzes with the supremely important Kasparov's personal additions, corrections and lending of his imprimatur make this set of books an indispensable addition to any serious chess library. Lacking, as usual, is a complete attribution in scholaraly style. I am waiting for the parts VI and VII dealing with the new opening revolution, KK and post KK era. I was a bit surprised that Fischer's MSMG analyzes were subject to as much critical correction as they were. I was also surprised, but delighted that Korchnoi, a non champion occupies a entire half volume, but given his longevity and contributions to the game this should not be surprising. I am looking forward to some complimentary mention of GM Anand, who after all held Kasparov to a string of draws in their title match, before he crumbled to the preparation in the Open Ruy and got surprised by the Champion's adoption of the Dragon. I would like to see what Kasparov might say about Topalov's games.
