It was always a delight when one of his sprawling third-world novellas showed up in Issac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, and for a long time Life During Wartime was my favorite novel. I found an autographed copy of Aztechs on the remaindered table at the University of Washington bookstore, and snapped it up for mostly sentimental reasons.
