When only someone's sexual characteristics are the focus of an image people complain that they are being reduced to their procreative aspect, yet when an advertisement shows only their hands or only their face they aren't being degraded or reduced to those parts? What makes the one case so special and causes us to universally overlook the focus of the second? Opposing arguments in this book on this and other related issues really seem to demolish such prudery. ( )
