The fabulous and colorful detailed illustrations beautifully frame the text of this retelling of the traditional tale from the Brothers Grimm. Readers will delight in looking over all the details as they read or listen to this classic tale. This version, like the one I grew up with, has the huntsman rescuing Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, by killing the wolf and cutting them out from the stomach, since they were swallowed whole. As expected, they were all happy in the end and Little Red Riding Hood was pleased that she remembered her manners and that she vowed to never wander off the path again. ( )

A faithful retelling of the Grimm's version of Little Red Riding Hood. The story tells of a little girl who lived with her mother on the edge of a village when her grandma gets sick she sets out with a basket of food to her house. Her illustration of the classic tale features beautiful artwork that captures the essence of the original story but tone's it down for kid's. ( )
