This book is about a pig family. The mother does everything for the father and son. She cooks, cleans, makes their bed, washes their clothes, and even irons them. One day the mother wasn't home when the kids and father returned home. They didn't know what to do or where to even begin with cleaning and cooking. They realized how they take advantage of the mom and how they should help her. This is is a good read aloud book to 2nd or 3rd graders to show them the importance of helping their parents around the house. ( )

This book is about a family. The father and two sons were dependant off of the mother for food, cleaning, ironing, and every household chore. One day the mom got sick of it and left. The boys did not know what to do. The house got really dirty, and they did not cook a good meal once. They did not do any laundry, or clean a dish. When the mom decided to return home the boys begged her to stay. Everyone started to pull their own weight, and it gave the mom time to work on the car. I liked this book because it shows sterotypes and ways to break them.

"Piggybook" is a book about a family of pigs who relied on their mother to do everything for them. Mrs. Piggot cooked, cleaned, mad the beds, and even ironed. One day when the kids got home from school and the father came in from work, the mother was nowhere to be found. They quickly realized they had been taking advantage of her and that they should help her do the chores. This is a good read aloud book to 2nd or 3rd graders to show them the importance of helping around the house.

This book begins with mom doing all the work with no help from her two sons or husband. One day they return to an empty house that suddenly turns into a pig sty. The pictures in this book are hilarious.

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 067980837X, Paperback)

Illus. in full color. "Mr. Piggott and his sons are a male chauvinist lot

who, outside of yelling for their dinner, don't exercise themselves much around

the house. When Mrs. Piggott finally tires of the endless chores that sandwich

her workday, she leaves the menfolk on their own, with a note saying, 'You are

pigs.' With the cooking and housework untended, they soon turn genuinely

porcine, a transformation Browne foreshadows with pig faces on the wallpaper,

vases, fireplace, phone. As in most of Browne's art, there is more than a touch

of irony and visual humor here. Fun to read aloud."--Bulletin, Center for

Children's Books.
