As good a collection of greatest hits you can get but really, it doesn't take much to hit a point where you really need more complete texts. Even the manifesto lacked some of the more important prefaces in this edition. Still, the organization of material was fine and there will be an inevitable lack of depth for any general collection of works, particularly for such prolific writers as Marx and Engels. ( )

Read it for the philosophical manuscripts, for the young Marx. ( )

Maybe we should just save time and assign it to every precocious college freshman. And print the thing in a better font while we're at it. ( )

I can't rate this. I enjoyed reading it in school so I guess I'll give it a 3. ( )
