I think I first read this when I was in 5th or 6th grade and I really liked it. A strange disease kills everyone over the age of 13(?). Lisa takes care of her self and her younger brother, she learns to drive a car, and figures out where to find food. Lisa organizes the children on her block and creates a fortress out of an old school. The children must protect their city from the armed gangs of kids roaming from city to city. ( )
