Summary: This story is about a beaver who is a carpenter who builds things out of wood. She does very careful work and expects everything to be perfect. However, one day when she designs a house she realized that it looked all wrong. Later, she realizes the house was designed perfectly because it was meant for giraffes.

Critical Response: This story is very original and I really liked the page at the back of the book where it showed all different kinds of tools.

Classroom Connections: This is a very engaging story and at the back of the book it shows different tools. Students could pick their favorite tool and draw a picture of it. Students could write a story about how they could use this tool in real life. Lastly, students could build something out of construction paper that would be something their tool would make. ( )
