This classic comes with a fully orchestrated and narrated CD. Peter and the Wolf follows the trials and tribulations of Peter and the animals that live around him. The illustration of this book is masterful, and lends itself to the story well.

This classic tale of Peter and the Wolf is wonderfully illustrated and includes an orchestrated and narrated CD. Peter and the Wolf is a great story about a little boy who finds himself in a troubling situation because he chooses to not listen to his elders. On his adventure however, he finds that he is resourceful and clever. His successful capture of the wolf proves Peter's bravery, and manhood. His elders celebrate his successes even though he challenged their authority.

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0375824308, Hardcover)

THERE IS NO better way to introduce children to classical music than with Prokofiev’s musical fairy tale of the little boy (played by all the strings of the orchestra) who, with the help of a bird (played by the flute), outsmarted the big, bad wolf (played by the French horns). And now with this book and CD package, children can look and listen all at the same time. A new retelling by Janet Schulman follows the basic story, but with a kinder ending for both the big bad wolf and the argumentative duck. Peter Malone’s paintings have the luminous quality of old Russian masters. The CD, with music performed by the Cincinnati Pops and word-for-word narration by Peter A. Thomas, was made exclusively for this book and CD package.
