Arion and the Dolphin is a legend from ancient Greece about a boy named Arion who is a very talented musician that is known to move the earth with his tunes. Arion tells his master Periander that he wants to travel to Sicily where he will win a music competition. He convinces his master to let him go by telling him if he wins it will spread his fame. Arion sets off on his journey with a trusted captain. Arion runs into trouble after winning the completion and gold as his prize. One night the sailors got into the captains head and wanted to take the gold away from Arion. Arion, with his natural ability to sing his way out of any situation begins to sing a song that lures in a dolphin from the sea. This story takes a surprising turn in the end when the dolphin ends up getting taken away from Arion and is killed. ( )
