Eh. Not bad - it's a Justine Davis, after all - but both the situation and the characters are just a trifle contrived. Their matching pain (backstory and current) is just a little too perfect. It is her first book (or her first for Harlequin, at least), and it's considerably better than most first books - but while I'm glad I read it, I don't think I need to reread. Besides, if I recall correctly, she did this same situation (child of a single father disappeared, the best investigator to find him is a woman), better, in the Redstone series. ( )
