Funny. The same tropes as The Loner, which I hated - again, overwhelming attraction, distracted bodyguard (even more explicitly a bodyguard), and "if the sex is great it means it's true love". But this one - despite those annoying tropes - has real characters, with real reasons for their actions. The back-stories sound rather cliche themselves - both of them misfits and victims in school, and still carrying those wounds - but they're beautifully fleshed out in Justine Davis' classic style. It's not wonderful - not one of my favorite Davises - but a quite reasonable and enjoyable romance. And now I want to find Cole's story, which I also have and have read. I hadn't realized it was a series. ( )
