Summer has come to Mossy Creek in this 3rd book of the Mossy Creek series. This time the summer heat has turned Creekites crazier than usual, in their usual hilarious way.

Therese, a 10 year old is determined to turn her relatives in for stealing flowers off graves at an old cemetery. Opal Suggs has been getting advice from a long dead sister on NASCAR races. She never loses when she places a bet. Wait until you see how she spends her winnings.

Two Creekites who have faced-off for years in the pickled beet contest become fast friends, until one is 'caught stealing' the others secret recipe.

A trip to Bigalow and the home of Mayor Walker's sister (who is also the mother of Gov. Ham Bigalow) leads to the theft of some chow-chow peppers (that had been stolen from the Creekites).

Between the hysterical stories of Mossy Creek and Bubba Rice's recipes this will be a book you can't put down-until you are ready to start cooking. ( )
