Eli Walsh and Wolf Grant have been good, platonic friends for the better part of a year. Though Eli's always been attracted to Grant, he's resigned himself to being just friends. But when Eli finds out Grant cruises for dates at the local gay leather club, he goes there, determined to convince Grant that the only one he should be bringing home that night is Eli. The problem is that if Eli tells Grant flat-out he wants him, it could ruin their friendship. Eli's had that happen before, and he's not about to risk it happening again.Grant's offers to mentor Eli in the BDSM lifestyle seems the perfect solution. Though Grant insists they'll remain just friends, Eli is sure that during the intimacy of their play he can show Grant exactly how he feels, make Grant crave Eli so much that he won't want their lessons to end. And when Eli learns how powerful submission to Grant can be, he's certain they're meant to be together. But heartbreak in Grant's past has made him wary of falling in love. Can Eli convince Grant to take a chance on their relationship, or will Eli's confession of loving Grant destroy their friendship once and for all?… (more)

Just re-read this one in August 2013 and changed my rating from 4 stars to 5. This was fucking hot! One friend, secretly in love with the other, pretends he wants BDSM lessons in an effort to bring them closer. And, boy, does it ever bring them closer! Hot sex, great romance and a perfect dose of angst make this a highly recommend read for any and all M/M romance fans. Enjoy! ( )

Okay, honestly, it was $1.42 and the reviews were convincing so I bought it. And it's well worth that money and the time I took to read it, but these book are just too short for me, I need a bit more depth that the author just doesn't have time to develop and that's a shame. I would like to see a full novel length version of this book, I think there is scope for that.

I liked that the Dom wasn't hiding behind his Dom mask of superiority, but had vulnerabilities and issues of his own (surely not only the subs can have all the issues!) and I liked that they were good friends well before hand, so we could jump into the relationship and feel it had a sufficient foundation. I don't like men with ginger hair my self, so I skimmed those descriptions (but that is not an authorial problem!) and I liked that the BDSM jargon was kept to a minimum.

On the basis of this book I would look for more Anne Thomas books. ( )

The pacing was very quick and I felt that the dynamic between the two men could have been a little more fleshed out. It did have some nice moments, but seemed to miss the point a bit with regards the kink. Grant is heavily into the scene, as evidenced by his harness O-o and Eli wants Grant, but is not sure about the BDSM. Fair enough! I think if it was a little longer the switch at the end might have sat better. As it was this was an ok wee read and an author I’d like to check out again, but this one just missed the mark a bit for me. ebook available via blog link or ARe.http://sharrow.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/shorts-3/ ( )

Eli is in love with his best friend Grant. But since the beginning of their friendship two years ago, Grant has not given signs to wants something more from Eli, and has allowed to Eli to enter his world only as a friend. So Eli has settled himself to it and contents himself with their nights spent together in front of the television or speaking of their mutual interest, art: Eli is a painter, Grant a tattoo artist.

But one night Eli goes to Grant and he is out, his neighbour says he is cruising in a near BDSM club. Eli is struck; he can accept to not have sex with Grant if the thing is mutual, ma knowing that Grant is searching someone also ignites a rebellion in him: if someone has to come home tonight with Grant, he will be him.

When Grant sees Eli at the club, he thinks his friend is searching to try something new in his life, a little of kinky sex. And he volunteers to be his teacher. But the lessons between them grow in something more passionate they espect.

Grant is a 'classical' character: he was wounded by love in the past and now he not allows himself to be really involved with someone. He uses BDSM and kinky sex to hide himself behind a scene and not slip out his true nature. When love knocks on his door, he relegates him to the role of friend to not loose him but also to not unveals his fears.

Eli is a quite man who contents himself with a normal life and a simple love. But when he risks to loose his lover, he unleashes all his courage and fight to conquer his prize.

A rather brief novel, with two tender characters. Not too inside to BDSM world, with only some scenes of role playing. An enjoyable reading, very romantic indeed.
