The book is labeled "the artwork and writings of Carolyn Mary Kleefeld." Kleefeld's art, mostly primitive or abstract in style, is beautiful; but her essays and poems are preachy, egotistical and overwrought.

For example, this excerpt is from the essay on Suffering:When we resist change, we suffer. Discomfort may be a symptom that we are inhibitng transition, are out of balance. Yet, when the thorns bleed the intimate chambers, change is forced into being. ...

I feel more circuited than ever to the higher resonance, to the golden vibrations. The pain and struggle that are part of my odyssey have taught me a comprehension of the earthly, of myself so that when faced with a challenge, I often have the capacity to rest outside of the complexity. Only in simplicity can complexity coexist in harmony.
