This book was written to help business executives use a minicomputer system to achieve increased profits. The author was especially enamored by the word processing and data processing capabilities of the minicomputer.

At my institution, we tried and abandoned word processing on our minicomputer system. As quickly as "smart" PCs replaced "dumb" terminals on our minicomputer, users began to do all of their word processing on the PCs. Eventually we learned that whatever our minicomputer could do, PCs could do better because of the proliferation of user-friendly PC software. ( )
