This book shares a wonderful opportunity to discuss characters feelings, and how they change over time. It is important to provide background knowledge about what it means to "have butterflies." At the end of the story the little girl has a change of feelings from having butterflies, to having a wonderful time at the wedding.

This book tells the story of a girl with mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness which give her butterflies in her stomach. She is going to be a flower girl in her aunt's wedding. Readers follow her journey through picking her dress, to practicing, to being so nervous the day of the wedding, to doing her job well and having a great time dancing afterward. A good book to talk about how characters change over time. ( )
