Published in 1922, Tales of the Unexpected gathers fifteen tales, including such classic stories as "The New Accelerator," in which a newly discovered elixir that enables individuals to move rapidly through time turns out to be both a blessing and a curse and "A Dream of Armageddon," a futuristic, anti-war tale of a man torn between his love for a woman and the political life he wants to abandon. Also included are "The Door in the Wall," "The Man Who Could Work Miracles , " and "The Moth," among others.
