Had a terrific plot that should have kept me on the edge of my seat, but it failed because there was no emotion and every time a crisis was set up, it was diffused immediately. ( )

I read the prologue only. A girl has been having an affair with a married man for three months. He invites her to a mountaintop for their "anniversary." He kills her, does the deed again, saves her barrettes, and then throws her over a waterfall. I was all "ewwwww" as I read it. He even "pushed his hard penis into her unyielding flesh" (p10)
