Work detailsThe Drowning by Camilla Läckberg (2008)
None. http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/8333453 Another book I would have enjoyed far more if the author hadn't taken the easy out and decided that someone with a mental health problem was the killer. How many times do people have to shout that those with mental health problems are far more likely to be the victims of crime then the perpetrators. This frustrates me so much, it's just lazy, stigmatising and boringly repetative. Or maybe I should just get off my high horse. I really loved reading this book. It has all the ingredients for a spectacular thriller: secret histories, revenge and dark memories. Lackberg is so talented in giving tiny amounts of information that keep you hooked from beginning to end. Somewhere near the end I started hoping Lackberg wouldn't give me a farfetched ending to the story. But alas... having a cross-dressing schizofrenic is not my idea of a brilliant ending - I would have given this book more stars if the ending had been as as good as the rest of the story. no reviews | add a review
