As she walked to the park silently she was able to hear a new world of noises. I enjoyed the idea of listening. Its a dying trait. I would use this book as a prep reader for listening excersizes in my preK classroom, I can also reinforce walking, clearing your mind, paying attention, visiting the park, etc... Its illustrated and word choice for the young reader. Grades preK-3 ( )About a little girl who talks about the things she does as she goes for walks with her dad. Age Appropriateness: Primary Genre: Realistic Fiction Media: Ink and Wash Plot: The plot of this story is important because it tells the reader how the girl becomes a better listener and how she is attentive to what is going on around her. The little girl goes on a walk with her dad and notices many of the descrete sounds around them. Review: This is a good example of realistic fiction because although it did not really happen it could happen. The girl and a her dad go on a walk with their dog Major and pay special attention to all of the sounds that surround them. no reviews | add a review
