Fashion model Tara Hill is gazing at a primitive tiger statue in a New York art museum. Looking up, she meets eyes with a handsome, powerful, mesmerizing man. He follows her to lunch and proceeds to attempt to sweep her off her feet. Unfortunately, Rafe Tyler has an ulterior motive for getting close to Tara. She was the last person to see his missing stepbrother, Jimmy, alive. Tara’s got some trust issues caused by her previous controlling/abusive relationship with the man who was involved in Jimmy’s disappearance. Rafe’s high-handed nature, although it comes from a place of Love (you know, the love they fall into over the course of like 4 days), makes Tara a little apprehensive. Understandably. However, Rafe is super-rich and super-hot, and totally loves her, so that makes up for it a lot. They travel back to Caracas, where Jimmy and the controlling ex were both last seen after a gun battle, so that the mystery can be solved.
There was a decent twist to the ending, but besides that, this was your typical romance with the tropes of lies and misunderstandings between two people who are unaccountably physically attracted to one another, and a seriously evil bad guy who the hero has to rescue the heroine from. It was written pretty well, except for all the internal marveling about how neither one of them could stop thinking about the other, even though they shouldn’t, and the never-felt-this-way-before sexual attraction they felt for each other. After two days. Whatever. Also, I could not get the “Eye of the Tiger” song out of my head the entire time I was reading this. Irritating. ( )

Book description
He Belonged in the Jungle...
When Tara first saw Rafe Tyler, she was reminded of a tiger preparing to stalk its victim. When he followed her, she realized she was right. He was a hunter, and he was hunting her. She was frightened, but she felt his power more than she would admit to him -- or to herself. Rafe would do whatever was necessary to find out what had really happened to his stepbrother. He was certain that Tara Hill knew the truth, and he was determined to make her talk. But then Rafe discovered he wanted more than just information from Tara -- a lot more.
