Initial few pages were interesting. People who have never given much thought to self esteem can get a clear idea of what it is and why it is so important for personal well being. But it kind of gets repetitive and frankly boring after a point, its almost like pages have been filled out where a single word or sentence would have done the job. ( )

This book basically covers many aspects of self esteem. however, I feel there is a lack of examples to help you internalize or techniques to help you improve. ( )

The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden is very well-done and informative. In an easily accessible style, Branden discusses the components of self-esteem as well as how to develop these components. The book calls them the Six Pillars but the first seems to lead to the rest. Littered throughout the book are personal stories and applications of these pillars which make it relatable to the common man or woman as the case may be.

I really enjoyed this book and would like to find more by the author since he goes into what he discusses in those earlier volumes. ( )
