John Vincent has always led a life of danger, and now he has every reason to want to remain as dead as the obituary in the Australian papers had proclaimed him to be. He'd left nothing behind in the life he had once led--except for one woman, and one night of unforgettable passion. Bailey Serborne is still tormented by a past she can't change and a man she hasn't been able to forget--a man who was supposed to dead. Poor Trent. Luckily he wanted her back enough to slightly turn against Jordan, the matchmaker. ( )

Despite some bad reviews about this book, I loved it. I think it was filled with romance, action and some damn good characters to boot. John and Bailey had one night of extremely hot passion, just to end in such a tragedy, but six years laters, boom! reunited. It was intense, it was sweet, sad and it gave me heart palpitations all at the same time. And can I just say that I can't freaking wait for Jordan's book?! ( )

sophisticated, professional story telling about relatively current people who are self reliant and decidedly purposeful. Always fun to read bout these types of people. They know what they want and don't hesitate to go after it. I liked the people in the story much more than the story. As with any Lora Leigh novel the intimacy heat was searing. ( )

Ex-CIA operative Bailey Serborne is using her personal/family wealth and position to track down the man she's sure is responsible for her parents' deaths, not to mention a car bomb that killed her lover. Secret operative John Vincent is supposed to be dead. He's not, and he's still got the hots for Bailey.

Opens with explicit sex, which continues with great frequency pretty much the whole way through - or at least as far through as I made it. I'm not a prude, but I prefer my sex scenes to at least be connected by a well-written plot. Unfortunately, there are so many gaps, loose ends, and contradictions that the whole story is muddled, not to mention overwrought. And the heroine is practically in heat. ( )

I really liked John Vincent and Bailey Serborne. They were loveable but flawed characters that fit so well together. I sped through the story so I could find out who Warbucks was and I wasn't disappointed with the psychopath that had killed and hurt so many people. The suspense was just right and the sex was hot, Hot, HOT, as you would expect from Lora Leigh. It was nice to hear had Noah and Micah's families. I also enjoyed reading that Jordon Malone is being called a matchmaker. I will be glad to finally read his story. This is a very good story that I highly recommend.

There are a lot of suspects in this story and all of them are probably guilty of something just not the crimes Elite Ops are investigating. I am glad that Bailey Serborne got her story and that she found her cousin as well as the man she fell in love with five years ago. I also like that Bailey was more interested in doing something like being an agent instead of wasting her time as an heiress. John Vincent is that dominant alpha male that so many of us want. He maybe a little better than most because he is willing to let Bailey be an agent. He is still possessive and arrogant but he knows that in order for Bailey to be happy so has to be doing something to make a difference.

Bailey is a little impulsive. There were several times in the story that she was almost killed because she didn't think that she needed back up. I don't think a good agent would put themselves in that kind of danger if it wasn't necessary and in both cases it wasn't necessary. She is intelligent and very intuitive. She figured out that Micah Sloane is her cousin and it doesn't take long for her to figure out John is the love that she thought died in Australia. She also has her suspensions about the rest of the team.

One of the signatures of Lora Leigh is her hot, hot sex scenes. She can write some of the best interaction between couples in the industry. There are a number of very long scenes that will leave you wanting. She is also very good in directing your attention away from the real bad guy in this story. I still love the line that Jordan Malone is being called a matchmaker because his team keeps getting married. Jordan needs his own mate so he will leave the rest of the guys alone. It was great seeing most of the people we have come to love in both the Navy SEALs and the Elite Ops series. I hope that we continue to get updates on how these people are doing. This is a wonderful addition to the series and worth time it takes to read. ( )
