After Amy lost her Mother in a horid accident in the previous book, Amy is left with Spartan, the horse that her Mother and Amy were rescuing at the time of the accident. The problem is is that Spartan incorporates Amy with the accident. Will Amy be able to turn Spartan into a calm and kind horse again? Or will she have to give up? Along with fighting with Sue, her older sister, whenever she tries to make a change in Heartland. Will Heartland stay in business? Or will all of the problems add up to be a little to many to handle? 2nd book in series. Amy is slowly recovering from the accident that killed her mother, while she and her sister try to keep Heartland ( a ranch for damaged horses)running with their grandfather. But she must face her demons in the form of Spartan, the horse that he mother was driving when the accident occurred. Simple book about caring for animals - horses and ponies and grief. I really enjoyed the way Lauren Brooke described how the main character felt after her mother died. |
