Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. His nickname was Barry and he was such a cute little boy. Obama's father was part of a tribe in Africa. He grew up in California, Kansas, Texas, and Washington. Also as he got older he had went back to Hawaii and then to New York. He finished his education in Politics. He was first a teacher and furthered his education and became a community organizer, legislator, and then president. He has came a very long way. ( )

This biography of our current president is a good, quick overview of Obama's life. The book will help young readers better understand who our president really is and why his story is important in a historical perspective. Photos, glossary, charts, and tables make this a great book to encorporate into a social studies curriculum.

This book gave lots of information about the government. It not only gave the President's life story, it also educated the reader on the office of the President. Very educational. ( )

Another great biography; this is one is about the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. This one was more interesting to me, more than likely because Barack Obama is our current president. For this reason, I think it would be more interesting to student's as well. Provides a glimpse into his early life, family, personal life and political achievements. I was unaware that Obama went to Harvard and was also a teacher for a good few years. Interesting information- Again, good for higher level elementary students learning about biographies, history & presidents! ( )

This book, about the 44th U.S. president, is from a series of installments about all U.S. presidents. It includes a timeline and quick facts about Barack Obama. At the end there is information about all previous presidents and facts about the U.S. government pertaining to the executive branch. It's very informational. ( )
