This is a collection of short stories written for anthologies between the Sookhouse novels. I'm so glad they were all put together in one book. I just read each story in between the novels it linked and it was "all good". Much easier and quicker than getting and reading several other anthologies to get the stories.
My only problem with these stories is that the events of the last one are so out of character for Sookie. Even with her grandfather's interference, one-night stands are not Sookie's style. And she didn't even have second thoughts when she woke up? Not the Sookie I know. I didn't even blink when she found out her grandfather was a fairy prince, because as weird as it was, it fit into the story. But Gift Wrap seems like it came from another author, one who doesn't know Sookie at all. So this only gets 4 stars, not 5, like the others. ( )

Even though the stories were just ok, it was kind of interesting to fill in the gaps. ( )

I absolutely loved this book and this series! I got involved with this series before True Blood became a show and I couldn't quit reading. I ended up getting all caught up and then had to wait each year for the next to come out until Harris finally reached the end of the series (I was devastated and wanted more Sookie Stackhouse in my life). It's been nearly 10 years since I read the first one and probably getting close to time for a re-read! ( )
