None. We may not realize today how effective Pogo was at bringing common sense to the political swamps of the right-wing fanatics of his day. He was faced with a well-funded John Birch Society (Kochs, Knotts, etc), not to mention Richard Nixon. Satire and gentle ridicule, with characters we all loved drawn with great charm. ( )Includes several Sunday strips, and introduces Fidel Castro (a donkey) as a foil for Kruschev (a pig), and the idea of puce stamps. Includes Wiley Catt as a McCarthyesque sort. The book is largely political, and is redeemed by the better Sunday strips which retain the fun and charm of the earlier "Pogo". no reviews | add a review Is contained in
