I really enjoy Lauren Bach's books. But this one...I just couldn't stand the heroine! She didn't have TSTL (too stupid to live) moments, she herself was TSTL. This was her first release, so that's the ONLY reason I gave it four stars. It's really more like 3.5. I heartily recommend Slow Hands (her next book), but this one just got on my nerves!!

Tess is driving 1)alone, 2)in an unfamiliar area, 3)at night, and 4)daydreaming about her art instead of paying attention...when she runs out of gas! 5)AFTER being warned about no services available and lonely stretch of road! She's ?rescued? by a nice, sexy, leather-clad, biker dude. Then 5 minutes later, surrounded by a mean looking group of biker dudes, 6)she decides to fight the only one who looks like he might not rape her? And 7)continues to fight him even after she is held prisoner inside their compound? Does she not read? Who doesn't know it's best to try and make yourself human to your captors? Better the devil you know and all that. But she really never figures that out...instead she becomes attracted to her captor. They have 8)unprotected sex! after she's nearly killed 9)trying to run away after 10)going into the woods with a biker babe who hates her!

ARGH...I can't type anymore. Just remembering is ticking me off and making me remember how much I disliked this heroine. ( )

TROUBLE JUST ROLLED IN...

A WOMAN IN DESPERATE NEED OF RESCUE
A deserted stretch of highway, a young woman stranded in a fancy car, and the sound of motorcycles in the black night....Tess Marsh's cross-country trip ends all too suddenly when Dallas Haynes finds her. From his sexy bedroom eyes to his black leather jacket and dusty jeans, he spells trouble, but so does the nasty-looking biker gang that surrounds them. Within minutes, Tess is on the back of Dallas's Harley, and at the mercy of a man who breaks through all of her defenses and makes her want him—good or bad, right or wrong.

AN UNLIKELY SAVIOR IN LEATHER AND JEANS
Dallas's mission doesn't need another complication, yet from the moment he sees her he wants her with a rough, hungry passion that can hurt them both. Claiming her and abducting her is the only way to protect her from the gang. Then all hell breaks loose, and Dallas and Tess are on the run with no place to hide—except in each other's arms. ( )
