A dictionary with all the obvious words omitted and acerbic comments on the education and diligence of people that misuse some of the entries. ( )This is one of the best books I have ever owned. It is so much fun! A Christmas gift from my mom. Somehow it seems like this book should be longer and contain more words--my same complaint about almost all dictionaries--someday i'll get the OED! no reviews | add a review

This is not your ordinary dictionary; Ehrlich thinks that defining everyday words with commonly accepted meanings is a massive waste of time. Instead, he concentrates on unusual words or those that present interesting problems. The result is a fascinating dictionary that can be read cover to cover, like a book; do so and your vocabulary may never be the same again.
