I love Catherine Anderson's work. Sharply defined characters, a hero who was a real villain in the beginning, but his heart's desire gradually softened him, making him realise that he has a conscience, and redeems himself.
I particularly liked Father Tully. He came across as a lovable old rascal. His verbal sparring with an inebriated Luke was sparkling with wit, and very entertaining. ( )

From BackCover:
SIMPLY WILD
The wealthy owner of a Colorado mining empire, Luke Taggart has seen and done it all. Now, bored with saloons, gambling and loose women, he feels a restless yearning--for what, he doesn't know. Until he meets a woman as fresh and pure as a spring morning--and vows to possess her...at any cost.

SIMPLY INNOCENT
Compassionate, radiant and breathtakingly lovely, Cassandra Zerek has a charming naivete that seems to blind her to Luke's seductive schemes--and an unwavering belief in the magical ability of love to transform this frog masquerading as a prince into the man of her dreams.

SIMPLY LOVE
Soon Cassie has aroused not only Luke's desire, but his conscience--most unexpectedly--as well. But neither gold nor guile will make her his own. Only the most precious gift of all can win her: Luke's deep and abiding love. ( )

Fans of Annie's Song will also enjoy Simply Love, a classic romance by talented Catherine Anderson. Set in a Colorado mining town during the 19th century, this romance brings together a truly naive heroine with the ultimate bad boy hero. If Cassandra was any more naive, she might even be simple, but it is "simply" her love that defines new meaning for Luke Taggart, a tough, impossible man of the world who is almost beyond redemption. This story is deeply emotionally satisfying, although you will not find any surprises in it.
