This book follows the last of the Corwin male cousins, Jason, son of Thomas. Jason was introduced in the last book, Lucky Streak. He is a snowboarder who tested positive for drugs and has been banned from the sport. He's come home to 'lick his wounds' and be with his family. He's taken up the family business and become a contractor to make money.
Lauren Perkins, also introduced in Lucky Streak, is the granddaughter of Mary Perkins, the former mayor. She is in town cleaning up her grandmother's home preparing it for sale. She isn't a typical Perkins and doesn't believe in the curse or care to 'keep it alive.'
I think this is my favorite of the three books. It brings the curse to an ending and wraps up the story fairly well. The relationship between Jason and Lauren seemed real--the reactions to each other and their situations didn't seemed forced. Once again, there were no shocking twists in the story--it was all very simple and easy to figure out long before it was revealed.
It was a steamy read that was quick. It only took me a day to read. I'm happy with the ending to the series. (
