After finishing the second book in the series, Lip Service, I decided to move right on to the third of the Titan sisters books, Straight from the Hip. Straight from the Hip picks up right where Lip Service ended with Izzy. She had been in an explosion on an oil rig and was left blind.

Lexi and Skye are concerned about Izzy not 'living' her life, so they arrange for her to go to a ranch with Nick Hollister who owns and runs a ranch for corporate retreats and troubled kids (both are not there at the same time). Nick is keeping secrets and is just as troubled as Izzy, but he covers it up with all the work he is doing. This story is about both of them healing.

It actually took me a while to get into this book. I'm not sure if it was just me (I've been working too much lately and too tired to read) or just the book. It did start off a little slow for me. Somewhere around the middle I finally got into the groove and wanted to keep reading until I finished.

Another book that you must read in order with the others in the series or it doesn't make much sense. I think this one explains even less than the previous one did. The setup for the fourth book was fairly obvious in this one, too. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the series. ( )

Book description
Izzy has always been the fearless Titan sister. But when an oil rig blows up, leaving her barely able to see, her sisters find themselves as concerned by her emotional withdrawal as by the possibility that the explosion was no accident. Are the mind games their long-lost brother Garth has been playing turning physical? Or is someone else out to get them?

When her sisters enroll her in a survivor training camp, Izzy is not happy. Though Nick, her instructor, is determined that she won’t be left in the dark. In more ways than one. But if he tells her the terrible truth behind why he’s helping her, he’ll probably never see her again. Unless they’re both willing to take the biggest risk of all.
