Very much enjoyed this book, though it reminded me quite a bit of Sherilynn Kenyon's "Fantasy Lover." This book was satisfying, though I would like to have seen more character development on the part of the heroine that didn't just magically appear after she was exposed to sex for the first time. I'll definately read other books of hers. ( )

Very fun read. Tristan comes from another world, a warrior, who is cursed to be a pleasure slave when he will not become the life mate or proclaim his love for a cruel sorceress. He’s trapped in a tiny box, forced to come out and pleasure whenever she wills. But the sorceress is overruled by a more powerful sorcerer, who hurtles Tristan’s box far away to another world, where he exists for centuries, pleasuring whatever woman controls the box. The only way for him to break free of the spell is to fall in love with a woman.

Julia buys the beaten-up box at a flea market. She’s an antique dealer in Sante Fe, a mid-20s rather plain girl who’s never been on a date in her life. When she opens the box and Tristan appears, she thinks she’s lost her mind. Once she comprehends the fantastic gift she’s received, she still doesn’t know what to do with him--except get him into some decent clothes.

Tristan is perplexed by this new mistress who treats him as an equal, and Julia quickly learns a number of lessons in sexual awareness.

Light and frothy for the most part, but funny and endearing. Good set up Tristan’s major conflict--if he admits he’s falling in love with Julia, he’ll break the spell and be sent home to live out the rest of his life without her. So, loving her means never admitting he loves her, and living with her means watching her age and die and one day getting a new mistress. Well done. ( )

To Shonna Tolbert-Hurt, Michelle Tolbert, Heather Showalter (and her donkey pal) and Kemmie Tolbert for the love, joy and laughter you bring to my life. And of course to Debbie Splawn-Bunch, who wouldn't let me title this book Handcuffed to the Headboard.

A special thanks to Deirdre Knight, Tracy Farrell and Jessica Alvarez. I am blessed to work with you.

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0373770324, Mass Market Paperback)

When Santa Fe antique dealer Julie Anderson was curiously drawn to purchase a battered jewelry box, she never expected it to contain her own personal love slave. Especially not tall, dark and sinfully handsome Tristan-a man hard to resist, and determined to fulfill her every desire.

Though Tristan was a rogue of the battlefield and the boudoir, making love with Julia was like nothing he'd ever known. Yet revealing his true heart would break the centuries-old spell and separate them forever. And Tristan would do anything to go on loving Julia. . .even remain a slave through all eternity. . .
