The main character, Buzz , is devoted to her cool trendy job, she spots new music trends and is in charge of very successful groups. Although she is in her forties she parties as hard as the young stars she represents and is as temperamental as them as well. Unknown to her, she is going to be suddenly thrown into a midlife crisis, facilitated by a dramatic change her work, as she is sidelined to the world music section. She goes on tour with a Bulgarian quartet called the Gorni Grannies and this experience changes her whole outlook on life. This is a light story which is well written and very funny. no reviews | add a review

It doesn’t take long for Buzz Wexler to begin to adore Lubka either, and Buzz isn’t one to adore many people. Buzz has become quite cold, over the years, quite cold to the mean world she sees every day in her job as a top-notch music promoter. So when she is asked to accompany the Gorni Grannies, including Lubka, from recently de-Sovietized Bulgaria on their musical tour of England and the US, it is only with the greatest reluctance that she goes along. The Grannies win her heart and rock her world, and to that we say, Thank goodness, Buzz. Her world needed some heavy-duty rocking. ( )
