This work is interesting. It is in the same vein as The Purpose-Driven Life - a book that required a daily commitment to read for a period of time. The language is more informal than I expected for a work of this type. There is food for thought, regardless of the presentation. This alone makes it worthy of reading.

Maybe it's because I've read or listened to many self-help "gurus" over the years or maybe it's because I was raised in a Christian home, but these types of books generally don't tell me anything I haven't already heard, considered, and dismissed/implemented. The way Rees sets it up into a 21-day program is unique, and I imagine this book could have a huge impact on someone who's never considered life-changes like these. For me, however, it was nothing new. ( )

This is a Christian based self help book reminiscent of Rick Warren's hugely popular "The Purpose Driven Life." Author Erik Rees offers 21 daily steps to help the reader discover ways to "make your life count". There are many inspiring Bible verses, and real life examples are offered. This book is recommended for readers who enjoy Christian self-help books, particularly Rick Warren's. ( )

There are many books on the market which seek to have you change your this way or that. This is one of them. Nothing much much new or original here.

This is a book for Evangelical Christians as it speaks to them mostly. I though once upon a time would have been considered in that column, i tend to find books in this genre like to preach to the choir.

The purpose is worthy enough. That of self realization. This of course is not a new concept, Aleister Crowley taught this as one of the goals of his religion of Thelema. Every man and every woman is a star. Each of us have our own place in the universe in our own orbit. ( )

The title really grabbed me. Only You Can Be You has a lot of insightful information, just like any other self-help book currently on the market. I lost interest about half way through as the book is focused on Christians and really delves into the Bible and living for God. This book is good for people who are religious and prefer the connection to God as they are seeking to improve themselves. ( )
