If you've read any other of Lamparski's "Whatever Became of ...?" series, you know what's in store for you in Vol. II. Lots of short bios on a random group of once-notable people, most of whom you will never have heard of, an update on what they were doing 40 or so years ago, and some photos that prove Lamparski was not a professional photographer.

The highlights of Vol. II lay in, as with the rest of the series, the snide comments about a celebrity, which seem to indicate that the interview didn't go as well as Lamparski originally hoped. For example, was there a need to point out that Johnny Sheffield, who played Tarzan's son in the 1930s, had gained a lot of weight in the intervening years? On the hand, learning that Corinne Griffith, who once claimed that she was a mere stand in for the real Ms Griffith, who had died some years before, has politics somewhat right "of the last tsar" is educational.

Well worth getting hold of if you can. ( )
