In the story, Felix Travels Back in Time by Annette Langen, Sophie visits a museum with her classmates and Felix travels into history. Felix visits ancient Greece, Vikings, the Middle Ages, Japan, and American Indians. Felix sends Sophie letters telling about his adventures.
I enjoyed this read. The pictures are interesting and colorful and the storyline really pulls you into the adventure. As far as realism, the story touches on the basics and stimulated curiosity. To extend the story we could make up and write down more adventures in these times, in the dramatic play we could add items from these cultures and in the writing area we would set up a post office. On a school trip to the museum, Sophie's toy rabbit Felix disappears. But letters start appearing in the museum. The first one is from Felix in the Stone Age. Then next from ancient Greece, then the Viking era, then the Middle Ages, then ancient Japan, and finally native Americans on the prairie -- where Sophie and her family on holiday end up finding Felix.
