World Book will tell a grade schooler what an igloo is. Junior Canadian will tell how to build one, starting with what kind of storm produces the best igloo snow.

My sister gave me this high quality encyclopedia set, who in turn received it from her teacher Ms. Ishii. Although not particularly in-depth and dated in some parts (Brian Mulroney is the most recent PM), this encyclopedia is tremendously comprehensive, with a particular emphasis on the geography, the geology, and the industries of Canada. Its pages feature a dizzying array of graphs, charts, and high quality photographs all on quality paper, that has remained pristine and unfaded over the past 30-years. This is an excellent primer for any Canadian grade schooler.
