I did not find out about this book published in 1980 until I was out of the Army a couple years in the mid-1990's. I remember in junior high school drawing M60 tanks in action scenes. When I entered West Point in 1979, the M-1 tank was a concept tank that people talked about. After WP graduation, I chose the Armor branch. My first assignment was 3-64 Armor in Schweinfurt, Germany. This was the first line unit to get the M-1 tank. It still had a couple of the lieutenants there from when the M-1 first arrived a couple of years earlier. After an M-1 tank company command stateside, I got out of the Army. Thus I was on the lookout for a book that could represent my past interests in tanks. I was on a kick for used hardbound books so this book caught my interest. I am not big on English (British) grammar and their (mis)spellings, but it was filled with all sorts of armor general information, history and trivia. I keep it for nostalgic reasons. I wish it could have contained updated M-1 information, but still it is not too bad. ( )
