Andrews is a self-taught poet who teaches Sunday school and earns a living cleaning houses. The poems in this collection sing a heartbreaking, unflinching kind of music. This ranks among the best books of poetry I've read in the past few years. I think Andrews captures the heart of her work in these lines from "A Place Prepared": "It's such a sad world./Don't we all get on with it, though?" I love the way Andrews gets on with it on the page! ( )
