Great Classic Stories - BBC audio (on the ipod). It's the best I could find on short notice at B&N.

Chabon's profile is much lower in the UK than the USA, although pastiching Sherlock Holmes in The Final Solution helped to raise it a little. I'm not sure UK editions of A Model World or The Mysteries of Pittsburgh have been available before now - my copies of ... > 59 Also a Chabon fan, but I was tremendously disappointed with The Final Solution. Apparently this vacation was not the time to shlog through an epic novel. Thus, again instead, I bring you:

Set in England during WWII, the story centers around a young, mute Jewish boy and his African grey parrot and an 89-year old ... Like principii, I've been avoiding Sherlock Holmes pastiches. The only one I've read is Michael Chabon's The Final Solution, just because I'm a massive Chabon fangirl. And he is fantastic at capturing a crotchety, 90-year-old Holmes exactly how I'd imagined he'd be. The plot's not really ... I just finished Michael Chabon's The Final Solution : a story of detection in the countyside near London, and am booking passge to Antartica via France with The Ice People by René Barjavel.
I enjoyed The Final Solution: A Story of Detection by Michael Chabon, and it is a quick read, as well. At my own local B&N, at least I stuck to sale books. I got:
