Book description
Ruth Hollis, heroine of Fly-by-Night, finds that she has grown too large for her beloved 'Fly' and must seek a replacement if she is to continue with her chosen sport. At the Marshfield auction she sees an animal whom she seems to recognize. He is a mere wreck of his former self, yet so strong is her feeling that he is for her that she buys him. Her new acquisition is really 'a boy's pony' and, in the eyes of those who know, no more suitable for Ruth than was Fly-by-Night. The Area Trials are to be her time of trial.
