Springer-Verlag's Astronomy & Astrophysics Library is excellent as is this book. It covers the basic astrophysical concepts and the math behind them with rigor. This volume covers gravity, electromagnetic processes, quantum processes, stars-- their evolution and properties, the interstellar medium and cosmology. ( )
