Five little ducks is about one little duck that keeps leaving the pack. It had started out with five and went all the way down to none, but then they all came back. This book is great for counting backwards and also has one of my most favorite tunes to go along with it. It is a great book that is circulative for early childhood or early elementary. ( )

Five ducks went swimming over the hills and far away, mother duck said "quack, quack, quack", but only four ducks came back. The book counts down to one and then all five of the ducks come back. This book would be great in the younger grades to practice counting and predicting what will come next in a story. Books like this one can be turned into songs and even have finger/body movements that the kids can do along with the story.

Five Little Ducks is a book about a mother and her ducks that fail to return to her one at a time, until there is only one left and they all return to begin just as they started! It is a great book for incorporating simple counting numbers, so it could be read to early childhood aged or very early elementary students. It could be used to show a circular pattern and also counting backward and forward.

One duck leaves each day then the last duck finds the rest and brings them all back.
