This book is actually based of the author's personal experience, i think that would be something really interesting to share with the students whole class if wanting to do a read-aloud with this. Another opportunity for cultural exposure

This is another must have for an ESL conscious teacher. The book has multiple spanish/english passages, and would be a great book to read to writers that are going to begin stories about their own names - I did this activity in a class, and there is a sense of pride and history that comes with sharing the story of how they were named. Sometimes the "strangest" m=names have the best story!
