57. Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
58. 10 Days to Faster Reading
I didn't think I was reading fast enough and wanted to learn tricks to ... ... books. This one seemed a little tamer than the others. I can't help but think the marriage thing makes a difference.
7. Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. I liked the first book of the series better. Funny how you can almost figure out which author ... ... Donal Donnelly does a fabulous job!
2. Light on Snow by Anita Shreve
Re-reading for an upcoming book discussion
3. Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
Thick but easy to read, and a great romp! I just finished Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and I've started on Peter and the Shadow Thieves. Then it's on to the conclusion of the trilogy, Peter and the Secret of Rundoon (and this one doesn't seem to be working on Touchstones). It's a prequel to Pete ... ...
The Snow Empress by Laura Joh Rowland
Cloud Atlas picked up for $1
Gone for Soldiers ditto, and
Peter and the Shadow Thieves
Non-Fiction:
1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, which I've already read from the library, but bought for reference with a gift ... ... amazing too. And I'll stop with Le Petit Prince. At least for now. :)
ETA: Peter and the Starcatchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves are really good too! I just put "Peter Pan" in the character list for both Peter and the Starcatchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves, even though the authors never call him that in either book, because I figured that while correctness and accurate representation of a book's contents are one thing, usefulness is ... ... it at least a few more weeks of watching, though.
What messed me up is that I'm currently listening to an audiobook (Peter and the Shadow Thieves) that's read by Jim Dale (the narrator on Pushing Daisies), and hearing the same voice in an unexpected context threw me off for a while. ... I don't get a chance to read for days on end, is pretty impressive, especially given the size of two of those books! Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (for some reason I can't get the touchstone to work for this one, it only gives me some ... ... The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima, Lady Friday by Garth Nix, Peter and the Starcatchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Quantum Prophecy: The Awakening by Michael Carroll, Vampirates by Justin Somper, and Dragon's ... ... favourite is Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown with wonderful illustrations by Scott Nash. Peter and the Starcathchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves also have great illustrations by Greg Call but they are quite stingy with them - maybe one picture per chapter. ... reading with my eldest son are Louis Sachar, Dave Barryand Ridley Pearson (Peter and the Starcatchers, Peter and the Shadow Thieves) and Eoin Colfer. ... remember what it was.
I'm now debating what to read next, I'm thinking of either Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell or Peter and the Shadow Thieves, but both of them are rather massive and heavy, and hard to carry around with one when going to the doctor's or the restaurant, which is often ... ... because she and I are going to do a short unit study on it for older students from Five in a Row.
Oldest ds finished Peter and the Shadow Thieves and is going to start Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke.
We have been reading a lot of fun Christmas picture books with the little ones, too! AMusing if your daughter likes Peter and the StarCatchers there is a follow-up. It is called Peter and the Shadow Thieves. I have just bought it for my son but we haven't read it yet as he's still reading the Artemis Fowl books.
Ridley Pearson has also written a book by himself called The K ...
